With Dawson on England duty for our next four day game (if you can call carrying the drinks for one evening of t20 as "on duty") along with Vince, Wheater will surely be recalled. And whilst it would leave us with no proper spinner, surely a trip to the Riverside demands Tommo for Crane.

Papers are linking us to Varun Chopra.

Notts apparently are also interested in Chopra as well as Borthwick and Stoneman!

Alsop has made promising strides, sadly McManus should be sticking to Dorset.

Some will succeed, some won't. We had to give them a go first to find out. But yes, in Alsop things do look promising.

We've made approaches for Chopra, Stomeman, and Stone. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/36703558

I heard Notts were in for Chopra and Stone man as well.

We definitely need some strengthening at the top of the order.

Carberry/Adams considering retirement?

Bit of a top order merry go round involving us, Notts, and Chopra. All three of us want Chopra, with him seemingly favouring a move back South. Essex want Hales, but Notts say they want to keep him (although if he's not given a central contract by England, they might be quite happy for him to leave given how little they'll see him next year). Us and Notts want Stoneman, but he will presumably want D1 cricket and neither of us are certain of being able to provide him yet - and Essex could yet be the one of the three of us who is playing D1 cricket next season.

Starting to rocket along a bit. Good to see, especially with the big hitting Andrew still to come too, because we're not getting four dry days by all accounts.

I guess there's a tiny chance Durham might not avoid the follow on.

Dawson will get the chance to bat at 8 and bowl one over tomorrow, given that he's been confirmed in the team alongside Vince.

Important wicket that of Borthwick. Rain still expected for later though.

Long tail as well especially as Richardson has been out of sorts with the bat and had a long spell in the field.
Forecast always suggested that there would either be rain today it it'd be dull and overcast and that makes the decision to bowl yesterday - under blue skies - even more bizarre.
