When did Matt Machan change his name to Kyle Coetzer?

Coetzer scored 156 against Bangladesh in the World Cup. Machan's highest score was 56.

Were those T20 games? Matt Machan has scored three times more T20 50's then Kyle Coetzer has managed, despite playing 4 times as less..... does it at far quicker rate, and averages three times higher. Domestically, he has a better record also.

Different formats require different things. Coetzer's pedestrian a run a ball rate in T20 is not good enough at all, so he gets dropped.

Machan is the better T20 batsman then but i know for sure Coetzer is still one of Scotland's best T20 batsmen.

Sad to hear about Monty's troubles. Though no one knows what they are. Depression (?) which seems to be the cricketers' disease? Hope he gets better, and we get to see him again.

A modern England great? Nearly. Never understood why he failed so much in ODI's. He was though a fine keeper/bat in test cricket.

In his day, best keeper-batsman in world cricket. Only one person has ever had anything bad to say about the man, and TBH I think most people take that particular individuals judgement on these things with a massive pinch of salt.

Abiding memory will be watching him sign autographs and pose for photos for about 15 minutes in the damp, cold evening of the 4th day of the final 2013 Ashes test after no play had been possible all day when virtually everyone else came out and did at best two or three autographs before heading for the bus. Top bloke, especially with the kids that hung around.
Anything can happen with a round ball.

Coz we're going up, and we'll win the cup, for Sussex by the Sea!

Fine England player, allowed to play on too long. Made himself a useful keeper, and a versatile batter not allowed to fully realise his potential at seven. Disappointing he couldn't break through into the ODI team.

I thought KP's book made a lot of good points very well, but his evisceration of Prior seemed petty and unjustified.

Quite a forthwrite article on Monty's problems http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/content/ ... 85847.html

It would appear, however, that he is simply depressed and frustrated that his career has not progressed rather than suffering from clinical depression.
He took 42 wickets last year economically-I'm sure many counties would welcome his services.

Shame Matt Prior had to retire through injury rather than on his own terms. Yes, excellent servant to English cricket and Sussex and a fine player who made the most of what he had, which is always highly commendable.

As with Swann and one or two others, playing on for too long with a known injury is something the England management should have dealt with far better, including the development of their successors.
