Last night, Australia hit the winning runs against India at the end of the 49th over, with only 3 wickets down.

The reports on the match will say that Aus beat Ind by 7 wickets. I reckon they didn't beat them by 7 wickets but by 6 deliveries.

India might have made their runs with only 1 wicket down, and Aus still would have "beaten them by 7 wickets". I have long thought that in limited overs cricket, if a team batting second wins, the margin of the win is actually the number of deliveries/overs left.

Good call. I sometimes see T20 games reported that way, even though not on the scorecard.

Truly fantastic article by Simon Lister on the 76 Windies series.

Looks like former Aussie ODI batsman Ryan Campbell, now 44, will play for Hong Kong at the World T20.

I read a few days ago that Darren Lehmann has had a deep vein thrombosis. Hope he's doing ok. Not heard any updates.

Yeah, he's not going to NZ.

As Aidan says, MdV is temprarily in charge. He had already been teed up to give Boof some time off - but I can't remember what short tour it was.

Not the first time he has had it, either.

Cheers chaps. Wonder if it might mean he'll give the job up. He's in his fourth year, so he's done plenty.

I see Shane Warne's charity has been wound up after public scrutiny found a lack of record keeping, and insufficient funds reaching the target group. The latter seems to be an issue with charities generally. It seems a shame. It does cross my mind that these 'foundations' might be in place at least partly for the reputation of the named celebrity. Is it possible that Warney could hve been more effective in campaigning to Government to prioritise helping disadvantaged children, alleviating the gap between rich and poor, proactively creating opportunity, etc.
