RIP.

Huh, I thought I had replied to that, Aidan. Yes, I reckon that was probably his greatest effort for Aus. I read somewhere recently how that was voted/decided about 10 years back to be the best ODI bowling performance of all time. No idea who was the decidee/s.

Having a look at the scorecard for the Eng/SL Lords test just now, when I see that Cricinfo has a list of all time best bowlers at Lords. Not surprising that the short list (top 11) are all England bowlers, so I went to the full list to see who were the best foreigners.

Paddles Hadlee was rated the highest, with 26 wickets from four tests. Next on the list was Pigeon McGrath, also with 26 - from 1 less test (3, to 4), about half the runs, economy just better, but both strike rate and average were almost twice as good as Hadlee's. In no column did Hadlee outscore McGrath, with the exception of playing one extra test at Lords.

Why do you reckon he is ranked higher?

Not sure where to post this, but this is probably the funniest thing i've ever heard from Geoff Boycott.

How he says this with a straight face defies belief.
"Stats are there to be broken" Dominic Cork
"They took all our players away, banned our captain and we still came away with a ten-wicket victory" Jason Gillespie
"You won't get anywhere slouching about half out of bed" Geoffrey Boycott

Well, now I know where I have gone wrong all these years. I'd always leave a little bit of me in bed.

however, Geoffery has been an inspiration to me. I am now FULLY out of bed - and achieving great things. For a start, it is FAR easier to make my bed now.

Infact, only been banned for 6 months, but won't be given a NOC to play abroad until end of 2015.

What a bizzarre decision. :?
