I thought James Who might break through this year.

Taylor is not consistent, one minute he's getting big scores the next single figures.

He's consistent for the Lions. He's done really well for them.

Captaincy option?

He made one today as NZ steamroller the Lions top order.

Jones has been added to the squad and plays today for England.

Hales holding out so far.

Hales was dropped early on. I see Rankin is not getting a game, have they injured him again?

Taylor's international career had always been a little hardto understand. Dropped despite not doing anything wrong then constantly moved down the pecking order for no real reason. Tough to see how he can get into the side in the near future.

Bairstow is on fire in this series. 40 runs for once out, and a SR over 100 coming in in tricky situations. But with Buttler ahead of him as keeper at seven, and Morgan a likely captain at five, and Ravi with some bowling at six, he has no chance of getting back in the first team.

Bairstow's return to form probably has quite a lot to do with him playing regular cricket again.

Good to see Tom getting some proper time on the middle.

Smith doing a good job too.

There was a poster on 606 whose name was something like Tom Smith future England great. Maybe he'll get a cap after all.

This was the last team to play. Cook/Bell/Ballance/Root/Morgan/Bopara/Buttler/Jordan/Tredwell/Anderson/Gurney.

Aside from Anderson and Cook being rested for the next series, will anyone else make way?

Fifty for Smith. Well done to him. They've done well to get runs on the board after a poor start.

Is it true that Alastair Cook shoots deer? Another thing I picked up on a MB, Ian Bell and Moeen Ali don't discuss the news.

The Lions went with a weak bowling line up and paid the price.

Against a vastly more experienced side.

Shame Tom didn't follow up his batting with another good bowling performance.

I take it Alastair Cook doesn't like animals, shooting deer as well as condoning cat skinning

It's probably why Graham Onions isn't in the England squad.
