good to see that CMS is approaching the England ltd over tour of Bangladesh with the same respect as the England team

England only played 5 batters in their latest XI and one of their dedicated bowlers only bowled his first ball in the penultimate over

There's another on Tuesday. A bit too hot on the heels of the NZ series. And then there was a mysterious game v SA. I guess BD are booked up because England don't play again until June.

Saker is the bowling coach for the Ashes
https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2023/ ... es-cricket

Will have to change his bowl dry approach as England have moved on from those days.
Thought Killeen was the new England bowling coach.

No questions like why did you leave Australia...um sandpapergate
Wonder who his choice of bowlers will be.

Not having a good time in Bangladesh using too many bowlers Woakes, Curran Jordan, Archer Ahmed, Rashid, Ali to Bangladesh's six.

using too many bowlers because all the batters have either withdrawn through injury (Jacks/Abell) or buggered off to the PSL (Roy/Vince)

as far as I can tell, England have been left with a 13 man squad of 8 bowlers, 2 keepers and 3 batters. I'm not sure that's what they will have planned for before the series started, but there you go, I think they are just in contractual fulfilment mode anyway

Just as well that Mo didn't head off for his PSL team, because I've included him in the 3 batters

It sounds as if Moeen Ali will retire from ODIs after the next world cup and just do T20s.

Just goes to show the ridiculousness of scheduling. England's players clearly didn't give a stuff about this series.

Bairstow will not be going to the IPL but rehab for the red ball summer with Yorkshire. Last played for Yorks in the cc...

2018 3 times
2020 twice

Last time batted at 3 for them.

Think that is good news. Obviously for Yorkshire fans ; but after such a long lay off he is probably better off coming back into the red ball business well ahead of the Ashes so also good for England.

d

Only one problem they want Bairstow to keep wicket for Yorks. That sounds like Foakes is being dumped and Crawley will be his useless self with with the bat and drop about half a dozen catches.

I got the feeling from the news of his injury at the time (and accompanying pictures) that it was a real horror injury, one of those double leg breaks. Will he even be fit enough to play in the CC season early doors? When footballers get those double leg/ankle fractures, they can be gone for a year plus.
