There's a meeting today. Please let it happen so English cricket can start to move forward...and take Data Moores with him.

Wish I could give you more than that at the moment.

The result of this meeting will determine if English cricket goes forward or backward.

Downton is King Midas in reverse.

I said on another thread that imo Downton will go, but Moores (sadly) will stay

hey they might shift Moores to the youth side and bring Andy Flower back...............

English cricket needs shot of this worm, I fear that's just a pipe dream.

If Pietersen is being given the opportunity to be integrated into the England team, as is looking increasingly likely, then surely Downton' s position becomes untenable?- a cunning plan by Colin Graves?

sussex has juat said in the other thread that whitaker has restated there is no way back for KP

sounds like an interesting little tug of war might be going on , especially now KP has signed for surrey and I assume given up his IPL contract

What I think will happen is that Downton will stay, Whitaker will stay, Moores will stay and they'll sack Morgan.... and get Cook back at the helm.

Colin Graves does not, apparently, accept failure lightly

I'm hanging on to that hope

Mutiny from Captain Cook.

I don't think Graves feels KP should have a chance, or maybe he doesn't care either way. On being bothered by a journalist on the subject, he just came out with the view of a lot of punters who prefer to think KP's exile is his own fault; why not score county runs. Even though his sacking wasn't performance related. And Graves stuck his foot right in his mouth. Consequently KP has been messed around further, taking up a non existent opportunity, and burning his other options. If Graves really felt KP should be allowed back, why wouldn't he talk to the people involved rather than dropping a bomb in a press interview? What he said was irresponsible, and doesn't give me much hope for the future.

Meanwhile, the sun sets again with Downton still employed by English cricket.

KP could be being used as a pawn to oust one or both of Downton and Whitaker as alluded to. Regardless of wether the welfare of KP was the reason of Graves' pronouncement, he could come out well if it allows Graves to rid himself of the others.
