Why ? Root is batting like a dream , taking on more of a leadership role as VC : seems happy and confident. Cook seems to have developed his captaincy skills and to be relishing leading a new and mostly young team in an altogether more relaxed manner than he did under the previous coaching setup...and he has just achieved one of his finest triumphs...he should be itching to take on the next - quite tough - challenges in the UAE and SA .
Now it is
possible that Cook might feel he's had enough of the added pressures of leadership ; but frankly I doubt it.
And I think throwing the new man into this particular set of tours doesn't sound like a particularly ideal bit of timing. In fact it sounds like a classic case of trying to fix something that isn't broken.
I know you want to clean out the old guard at any cost , Arthur. But I sincerely hope it doesn't happen just yet. because I don't think it would be best for England.
Anyway : England Captain's
always resign after playing SA
