I actually have a sneaky feeling that his bid value in the IPL might be more this year, because everyone will take a chance on thinking they can get him as a bargain, and it will trigger off a bidding war. Through face and reputation alone, he is a brand that most franchises can sell to the fans, so he will still find teams.

I mean I would be amazed if no IPL or Big Bash team picks him up. Id be amazed if he doesn't play county cricket next year.

Word is, that there will be a reference to the time he spent with Edam Hazard and Eldis Caravan, living behind my bins.

It seems that he spent that period teaching Edam the technique of how to pat a ball boy on the head, and tousle his hair in a benign, paternal way, but Edam misunderstood, and chose instead to kick the *modded* out him for being a bit sluggish getting the ball back into play.

Chapter is entitled 'Lost in translation', apparently.

Yes I made him include that one for the inherent sentimental value. You will see chapters about his time down the pub with Murali Kartik, fishing trips with the Actor John Hurt and poker games with the Pope. Will probably get sued now.

Apparently the Pope has glasses that can see through playing cards, and he spikes other players drinks with nerve agents. I wonder if KP realised?

So KP did spend all his time with celebrity friends.

No doubt the ECB will slap a ban on KP when the book comes out for bringing the game into disrepute.

But they won't be able to stop him from playing in the IPL and BB.

I suppose they will have to have a good reason. It looks like they have already issued a threat. But plenty of others players have issued autobiography's that reveal things about the dressing room. The ECB didn't intervene when Swann criticised KP's captaincy in his book.

His newspaper pieces have been quite restrained. I can't see him being nasty. Just tell his side of the story.

Downton was foolish to sack him the way he did as he was already a spent force as an international cricketer. In doing so they handed him the moral high ground when all they needed to do was not pick him.

No more of a spent force than Bell and Cook (and Trott). Their records over the last couple of years to the end of the Ashes were similar. Certainly, Downton could have told Moores and Whitaker to get rid of him during his next lean spell.

Two years up to Sydney.

The last twenty months he spent at least 6 moths injured with various injuries to his undercarriage. For a man of his build that's close to the end of the road and his performances with bat and in the field were clearly affected.

Comparing KP to others is a version of 'anyway, my brother is better than your brother', which doesn't prove anything if both brothers are not very good.

The ECB would have looked incredibly petty if they brought any action against KP following the release of his book. This Surrey deal feels like a red herring, fact of the matter is he was rubbish for all teams this season. If Surrey wanted him back, I imagine it would be as a normal player insted of this T20 nonsense which clearly did not work.
