And by actions, you mean scoring 14,000 international runs right?

No, that's obviously neither here nor there when it comes to dignity and overall reputation.

This isn't over yet.

If KP has a newspaper deal, they're going to want a little about his sacking. This is pretty gentle stuff.

Strangely, I don't here you talk about "dignity" and reputations when you talk up your York's legends, although I am sure that Boycott was very graceful in ditching England for a rebel tour to South Africa, or when he punched his wife in the face. I am also sure Fred Trueman, who was fined for bad behaviour on a few tours and who Len Hutton thought of as a toxic dressing room character, was a picture of grace.

Your tendency to go off at a tangent on any topic of discussion never ceases to amuse, sp.

I have my thoughts on those matters but I don't quite see the relevance here. I'd be grateful for an explanation of why you think they are relevant. If you provide one, I will do my best to try to comprehend it.

KP is now on record saying he is "relieved" to be away from the England dressing room.

So why the hell are we hearing about it every 10 mins.

He's talking about the problems of a particular tour. He says he misses his team mates. There is a lot of public interest in this story, which is why the people involved get asked about it.

This seems to cover the Etheridge/KP disagreement well.

It does but KP did get a bit childish about it at one stage. He is right though -The ECB are feeding the journos complete crap and they are swallowing it whole.

The whole gifts story was utterly bizzare. I doubt anyone at the ECB would be stupid enough to pass on information that could be so easily be shown to be wrong.

Someone is pulling someone's leg. ECB could have a mole or the papers could be making it up themselves. Either is possible.

It's a really strange claim to just pull out of the hat though. The suggestion has come from somewhere down the grapevine, but it's very hard to believe anyone important at the ECB would deliberately throw the press to the dogs like that.

One suggestion I have heard is that the presents that were allegedly returned were actually new ones intended for Ian Bell, who will reach 100 Tests this week.

Simon Wilde's book on Pietersen will claim that Swann was phoned by Flower to complain that he was too pro KP in his press articles.

Together with Charles Colville declaring that the Verdict was not supposed to talk about Pietersen during its review of Sky's cricket coverage, and claims that Downton had a word with Warne after Cook asked for something to be done....

And the absolute plethora of love your leader articles about Cook in a year that runs (in all formats in which Cook played) LLLLLW...

It feels quite creepy.
