Heard rumours Woakes might be back for this series? Or is he being held back for Ashes duties?

Hope England don't keep picking Wood, seems the best way to guarantee injury the way he bowls, would like to see Jordan given a chance again. Plus as one of the best fielders England have at the moment he'd fit the bill for that.

It will be incredibly disappointing to see any of the following called up; Anderson, Broad, Ballance (who I think there might be a place for in some circumstances, but needs to go and score runs for Yorkshire right now).
Anything can happen with a round ball.

Coz we're going up, and we'll win the cup, for Sussex by the Sea!

If I was picking the team then the top 5 would be:

Roy
Ali
Hales
Taylor
Root (c)

But as Morgan has been made captain, the selectors will have to pick him!

I think I'd find a way to get Buttler in the top five, and if Stokes is in the side, he should be no lower than six. So one of those top three (Roy I suppose) might have to go. Except there's nothing wrong with giving different people a chance.

Maybe Jordon should be picked for his fielding alone?

Depends on how well Willey etc do. Broad for Jordan is a gimme, imo.

or Woakes for Jordan. That sounds like a great option.

For ODIs I'm not so sure, I think he is more of a FC / Test bowler

Woakes had established himself in the ODI side more than in the Test team though. Even though better in fc cricket, he feels closer to a return in the ODI side.

Must confess to harbouring similar thoughts but perhaps this time we should acknowledge the selectors got it right ?

After what we've seen so far this week I can see this kind of side being picked on a regular basis, with a plan to get a squad assembled for the Champions Trophy:

Ali
Hales
Root
Morgan
Stokes
Buttler
Willey
Rashid
Woakes
Plunkett
Finn

Roy
Taylor
Billings
Jordan
Wood

Same with Cook in Tests, they need a good year to suggest the downward trend has been reversed, given a couple of years of poor performances.

Hope Willey gets a chance in this series. He should do, someone in the England camp said a left armer was going to be de rigueur.
