As far as Trott is concerned I would like to see him back but it is difficult. If he does manage it then it's even harder to sustain good performances.

The temptation to compare him with Trescothick is obvious but very unwise - for all we know the cause and effect could be something totally different.

D/L talks about speculation in regard to KP - well the same thing applies, if not more so, to Trott.

I think it best to wave my QI 'nobody knows' card and move on.

Whatever the nature of Trott's condition, it led to him leaving the tour and making our job in Australia even more difficult. It is not speculation to say that if it can happen once, it can (not that it will) happen again. This should be at the forefront of the selectors' minds when they consider any return for Trott.

There are one or two reasons for Prior to languish but I wouldn't make his assessment of the Pietersen situation, one that must arise from close contact and which should carry some weight, one of them.

Though I don't think the answer is to leave out problematic characters like Matt, but to continually work on keeping them in the team. You need to pick your best players.

This is it in a nutshell. There are very few team dressing rooms in sport where everyone gets on with each other. As long as the players do the job when they cross the white line then there shouldn't be an issue.

Which Matt Prior is absoutely doing. As shown by his last ten test match figures....

0,0,38,4,1,31,6,1,30,17,0,47,0,0,4,0, 69, 8, 26......

Like I said, Matt Prior needs to shut the *modded* up and score runs.

I kind of agree. A lot depends on what went on. If it's a case of 'I don't like you Kevin cos you earn more money than me, and are a bit of an arrogant .... , then tough. If there's more to it, then something has to be done.
