If his body was up to it I'm pretty sure he'd like nothing more than to face the pace of SA and Oz.

I doubt if anything is easy for him anymore.

I agree. I think India will need him against both Australia and the Saffers. He'll make a shed load of runs against England, just to remind everyone how good he is.

He has hinted at retirement though. Not sure why he'd want to tarnish his legacy by being a "passenger" in the side. If he doesn't score against England, then that'd be it.

But to answer your question, no. No one is ever dropped in India. Even those are actually dropped are just "rested".

Might go and stick £20 on him top scoring in the up coming series tomorrow. The only problem is that there are 3 Indians badly out of form so the odds on Sod's isn't great.

More speculation over here like there were prior to series against Australia. Sachin has been retiring almost every series in this last year going by this thread
