What happens once the player is on the England radar, especially bowling 90mph, they try to bowl faster. Atkinson recorded at 94 last week. Minor injury, rested for 2 games and when he bowled last night speed down at 88mph. It has always been the way. Bowler X bowls at 90mph and gets reverse swing hype by the media. Shahzad, Amjad Khan, Sajid Mahmood.

Carse can bat, so if his bowling doesn't cut it, he has that to fall back on. He's scored a fair few runs this season. He's busy turning himself into a genuine bowling allrounder. Probably won't count for much in the T20's, but will stand him in good stead looking further ahead with England

England cricket team has disappeared from the middle of summer.
There was some interest around the Ashes, but it all seems to have evaporated.

I liked it when the cc was 2 divisions of 9 teams - 16 games - April to September.

Presumed they'd decided to look to the future.

well, I can tell there's an international cricket match on at the Riverside later. The weather has been lovely all morning and early afternoon, but now the skies have become overcast, it's getting much darker, the wind is up and it feels like rain isn't very far away

16 years ago in the West Indies WC - Anderson must have been 24, not knowing he would be sitting beside the boy who looks to replace him. Crazy.

I thought they had this glut of ODIs as practice for the WC. This sort of defeats the object. Not great for ticket holders either as this is now a Lions game.
