Too right.

I read somewhere that he's been named the MVP of this years league.

Found the list of awards for 2017, Stokes is indeed awarded the most valuable player of the tournament. Sorry Sussex.

It's not just how many, but when they happened. He was Player of the Match three, maybe four times. So some games he didn't do much at all, but when he did, he had a pretty big impact. He also had a pretty tidy economy of 7.18, and is a very good fielder. Add it all up in the one player, and you can see why he's considered valuable. Maybe not quite like having 2 players in 1, but at least 1.5.

Hopefully he'll be able to transfer some of that good form to the ODI arena.

Bizarrely, he scored exactly as many runs as he conceded (316) in the tournament. A nice little statistical quirk/trivia question there.

Well played knock of 101 from 79 balls. Nicely paced as well considering the position England were. :clap

I'm coming round to Stokes. He has an ability to make fielders drop catches better than anyone I've seen. He's continued his fine form from India in this regards, where India dropped him three times an innings, threw in a missed stumping here and there, and even bowled him out with out a stump dislodging

If it's true a player makes his own luck, then Stokes is already justifying his hype. A legend

For the record, has anyone ever been dropped twice in two balls after coming to the crease? Never seen it.

I wouldn't mind seeing a chart of where Stokes scored his runs yesterday, the majority of his big scoring shots were played leg-side regardless of where the ball was pitched.

Stokes looked suspect around the corridor of uncertainty. All Australia, Bangladesh, New Zealand need to do is get the ball moving away from off-stump to get Stokes out early doors.

Or catch the ball.... Id love to see his recent England averages across the formats if teams had taken the first obvious chance presented. Hed not have scored a 20 in India at all.

I believe its in the MCC's Laws of the Game, the unheard law 54.6.7, that states it is mandatory for at least 3 sitters to be put down before Graeme Smith is allowed to register a 100.

Rule 54.6.8 states that if the required sitters havent been accrued, then proper catches taken that are given not out by way of not bothering to watch the delivery properly, will count on its own.

Hmm pretty concerning about Stoke's knee problems...only hurts in delivery stride dosent sound good...and we can't afford to only be getting 5-6 overs a game out of him...needs to be monitored and looked at properly...he needs bowling as part of his armour as for me he can't just get in the side as a batsman, which could potentially happen in the future..
