He calls it a day....

"His batting average, after the tour of New Zealand, stood at 95.50 after 15 Tests. It fell to 61.87 after sub-par series against Sri Lanka away and South Africa at home, but he ends his career, nonetheless, with the second-highest average - behind only Don Bradman - among all batsmen with a minimum of 20 Tests."

He'll be remembered for that, though maybe as a curiosity. For refection on the best players, the search will be set above his number of Tests, to filter him out. A great late career adventure for him though.

Though George Headley gets remembered and he only played 22 Tests. Maybe in time Voges' stats will lose their context and won't be treated with as much suspicion.

Doubt it considering it is quite easy to make Voges look average considering he failed against England, SA and Sri lanka.

I think most people at the present would say that Voges' figures flatter him by some margin, but equally it was good to see a player who should have had a long international career at least have some time in the spot light.

In 15 or so years, who knows. Voges might be one of those players that people with no real knowledge of the history of the game throw into all time sides based solely in his average.

Voges ends international career with 54 from just 31 balls

As of now? So he won't play in the CT?

Might be a while before we can be so sure that his career has deceased that anyone could write a eulogy with any degree of certainty.
