Arthur Crabtree wrote:Probably the most boring Test bowler of all time, with his fifth stump line. But did an effective job for his team. Don't think he delivered on his batting promise in five day cricket, because he carried the threat to really hurt the bowlers, but it happened infrequently, and his running could engender a one man collapse. When times were bad, they were terrible. A superb limited overs player though. Needed to lose some weight. Looked like a rerun of a 1990s player stretched out to fit a modern widescreen tv.

Ben Stokes... Average of 33 with the bat, 38 with the ball..... best thing since Jesus walked on water! Maverick who can win matches on his own.

Shane Watson... Average 35 with the bat, 33 with the ball..... overweight. Bad attitude. Couldnt care less. No technique. Bowled to slow. Failure who didnt deliver.

Watson is at the end of a 20 year career where he never truly made the cut at Test cricket, Stokes still at the start of his career,

Rather a vacuous comparison to make. At stages of his career, Watson was given the same degree of praise as Stokes has been, we now have a complete sample to know how that turned out.

Stokes may go the same way, or may not. Let's make the comparison fairly when he retires.

Really surprising stat...

There has only been one T20I ever that has seen all 20 wickets fall.

Frank assessment of Afridi from his own camp.

I can add... the team manager allowing his debrief to get into the hands of an unsympathetic press.

So, thoroughly unprofessional, from board to equipment supervisor?

It looks like the only thing missing from a typical Pakistan performance was a couple of efforts by one or two absolutely brilliant players, threatening to turn the competition on it's head.

Everything about Pakistan cricket is awful at the moment

A boot camp is being planned in coordination with Pakistan Army in Abbottabad to make Pak players physically fit for England tour

St Lucia's national cricket ground has been named after Darren Sammy. Johnson Charles will have a stand named after him there.

Presumably not being able to see out of the grill properly, which is dangerous in itself.

Don't blame him to be honest, Cook is not exactly the type to chase after a short pitch ball.
