The ICC anti-corruption unit has never looked strong. They wouldn't have looked so bad now had they done even one thing, just one thing, of note in the several years of their existence. To me, it has always appeared to be a sinecure for retired members of the constabulary.

Dunno, I would be devastated if Aamir's career is over with this - he's such a rare talent, and stands to loose so much more than the other players involved.

All this talk of leniency for Aamir is premature though. The investigation has just started; and clemency comes into the picture only if there is an expression of genuine remorse for the deed, and a credible promise that it will not be repeated.

I think all this talk of anything related to this investigation is premature. In my experience, it's usually small things that don't make it into the press until everything's done and dusted that are pivotal in legal proceedings.

Apparently the NOTW are claiming a 4th player in the squad is implicated in spot fixing and are also reporting that opening batsman Yasir Hahmeed has claimed several of his team mates have been involved in fixing every match.

Well, apparently Yasir could be in trouble for not reporting the approach - puts him in breach of the code of conduct ... so not looking great for him either

I just heard on Al Jazeera that monies have been traced to Salman Butt's account by Scotland Yard detectives. One has to feel sorry for Amir, who was merely following the dictates of the captain Butt [ Butt's living up to his name]
