Obviously the old Egg-and-Bacon-Tie Brigade don't fancy sitting in the cold so they gave the first test to Yorkshire. The last test there was baltic too.

Given England's record at Headingley maybe we should stop playing there on a more permanent basis?
Anything can happen with a round ball.

Coz we're going up, and we'll win the cup, for Sussex by the Sea!

The amount of players Yorkshire supply England far more outweighs than England's record at Headingley

You'd think they'd play better there really, wouldn't you? I think Tim Bresnan had one of his worst records for any ground at Headingley for example.

Ah, Bresnan's debut against Sri Lanka in 2006 on a benign wicket.

Root, Lyth and Ballance have scored test centuries at Headingley in the last two years.

Ian Bell appears to have retired from ODI cricket, not shocking news but he is nevertheless England's leading ODI run scorer at this point

I said at the end of the last WC that to build for the next one we should disregard those that wont be there in four years time.

That means not picking Bell but also Broad, Anderson and probably Cook also. That would also ease their workload so that they can prolong their test career.

I see that Ian Bell has come out and told the BBC that he is "110% committed to test cricket"

As soon as anyone starts talking about being more than 100% committed, or claims they will put in more than 100% effort, I know immediately that they are talking bollox, spouting platitudes, saying something without giving it proper consideration

Wel..... Mr Bell...... if you are 110% committed to test cricket, why aren't you 120% committed?

or 150% committed

or 300%

ooh, ooh.... 86,747% committed that would be good

much better than 100%!

more than 867 times more committed, as it happens

What a w@nker!

I've never understood why people feel the need to offer more than everything they have to give. Why do they feel the need to pluck some imaginary number out of the air?

it just makes everything they then say utterly worthless

and what is the point of that? :no
