On the contrary, whilst obviously restricted by contractual requirements, the stated need for players to be able to trust each other says plenty, really. Pietersen's texts were a serious breach of trust within the dressing room and it seems quite possible that things that have happened since, things that cannot be divulged at the moment, did not suggest that trust could be built.
