Tests or ODIs or both, Dan?

Tests. Not bothered where he bats in ODIs but he seems to be suited to number 7.

As I have not written for a while, I don't know how it came out. But here is something about Taylor. http://www.cricbuzz.com/cricket-news/76 ... gland-need

Nice piece GB, and managed not to mention Graham Thorpe. But it seems Moores did more to hold Taylor back (after the WC) than promote him.

Although Taylor is good at the sort of thing that is probably now called innings-management, his ability to hit sixes tends to be underestimated.

Thanks, I never liked Moores as the coach of the senior team. But for an outsider, seems to offer something when he works with the younger lot. They made a mistake by appointing him as the coach of ENG team. He should rather work with the Lions. Of course, Taylor can generate some power, which he showed when he smashed Malik for a six.

While accepting that feels a bit hasty and disrespectful...

... but what is going to happen to Taylor's Test place (while I thought he should have been in the ODI side, his retirement really just takes pressure off Morgan).

Move up Stokes and Bairstow, with maybe Buttler coming in as keeper,

Return of Bell or Ballance? Or... no, that couldn't happen...

A cap for Vince?

An emerging player like Hain or Duckett?

Any other options?

Borthwick feels a way off. Hildreth feels like his boat has sailed.

Tom Westley is going to get into the mix at some time as it's clear he is very talented. Ansari when he's fit is another emerging young talent and like Westley is a top three batsman.
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.

Westley averages 33 (eleven tons) and Ansari 32 (three tons), without Borthwick's proviso of playing in Durham (36/12). Wouldn't they be hunches?

Just for the record, Ballance 51/27, James Vince 41/17, Sam Hain, 41/6, Ben Duckett 36,6.

Only Ballance and Hain have substantially made their runs in CC1. Of course, GB accumulated plenty of these runs in Zimbabwe.

Duckett now averages 42 courtesy of his undefeated 282!! He will remain undefeated as the match has been called off.

Seven tons. Timely. Not sure he's been through the development packaging process, pretty sure he's not played for the Lions. Flower will want to get his callipers on him first.

i reckon bell will be back in the side

175 for warwickshire in this game, another big knock and they will pick him unless someone else is racking them up

a winter off may well have done him the world of good and watching us win in SA while he was sitting at home bring his desire back

I don't believe the England camp will permanently discard a still relatively young player with 22 test centuries as easily as some England supporters are content to do.
