Um, just looked and he was in Superman.

Liked him in Billy Budd.

Indeed he was. Quite the feat coming back to Tests after ten years retired ... plus his work as coach. An Englishman might well have been knighted....

I think it was his work/achievements as a coach that he will be best remembered for. Took Australia from the laughing stock they were in the early 80's to the dominant force they became by the late 90's (along with Alan Border of course). He would have been awarded a lordship for that.

I think he was the first coach in international cricket, and made it a standard position around the world.

I read The Collector many many years ago and was blown away by it. Got to see the film about 10 years ago, and my thoughts were that film did the book justice and Stamp was fantastic as the lead.

He is best remembered in Aus (of course) for Priscilla. While cooking dinner last night, a current affairs program was on the radio, and it sounded like the LGBTQI community were mourning him/paying tribute to the impact the film and Stamp's role had for them in Australia.

Yes, excellent novel (The Collector). Lucky to get as great a director as William Wyler to adapt it.

Must have lived a lot of life after he passed out of the public eye. Although it seems he dragged his boxing career out for a long time. I vaguely remember him coming back to fight Bruno.

He moved to Australia many years ago - in true Australian style, he "became" known as Aussie Joe.

He would have been one of the forerunners of aged boxers coming back decades after their prime.

He seemed to be a decent bloke.

Ricky Hatton, 46

very young. Nothing suspicious. There's a part of me that wonders if he took his own life. He's had his mental health struggles

Though his last film was 2018. Here is my top 5, as an actor.

This Property is Condemned (1966)
The Candidate (1972)
Jeremiah Johnson (1972)
The Way We Were (1973)
All the President's Men (1976)

Didn't do Harry Potter, or East Enders.
