He hasn't been able to get in the championship team this year but did play a few one-dayers. His back has been troubling him for the past 4 or 5 years and this is the reason given for retirement. I'm not sure his contract would have been renewed anyway. I would think at least 3 names would be ahead of him in the next batter group.
