I listened to Vaughan & Tufnell on Radio 5, they interviewed Geoff Lawson who has been working with Bayliss at NSW. Lawson is a mischievous character and what he says is best taken with a pinch of salt but according to him Bayliss hasn't yet accepted the job and is not absolutely certain to do so.
I'll be very surprised if Bayliss doesn't accept it.

Supposedly Bayliss leaked the story, so he must be taking it.

I thought Lawson's attempts to muddy the waters weren't convincing! If there had been any doubt over Bayliss then presumably the ECB would have instructed Farbrace not to answer questions about him during the post match interview.
Cook seemed mildly irritated by the news breaking during the test match, he said something along the lines of having no idea about the appointment and first he'd heard of it was when Sky Sports was on TV in the dressing room at the lunch interval. He said something sarcastic about how it was great timing to break the news during the game.

I'd have given it to Farbrace.

Seems at ease with the media and made some good calls with the team.

He also seems to be able to get the players to relax, there was a much more laid back vibe about the team in this test.

That is a generous term for Lawson. Some down here say w@nker. Being a fellow NSWelshman, I'll only go as far as plonker.

With 3 ICC pyjama tournaments in the news four years I think this is a very shrewd appointment by the ECB, he is far more experienced than Gillespie which probably counted in his favour.
Anything can happen with a round ball.

Coz we're going up, and we'll win the cup, for Sussex by the Sea!

Bayliss' end of the deal has already leaked that he initially turned the job down, has massively increased his salary, and that he was appointed at all (ahead of the ECB announcement). Maybe the ECB has met its match.
