Prior wasn't even the best gloveman in England during his career. Read, Foster and Bates were streets ahead.

That's an Interesting choice of words in the first sentence - Prior's career used in the past tense. Freudian slip?

I'd be deeply shocked if Prior plays for England again, I'd be a tad suprised if he lasts more than one season for Sussex.

Martin Crowe is sufering a relapse of his cancer and is not expected to live long.

NZ's greatest ever batsman (I assume) has had follicular lymphoma for a few years and it was in remission, but has come galloping back.

Good luck Mr Crowe.

It has been quite a run fest for batsmen in this calendar year.

There are seven who have scored 1000+ runs in 2014 -

Sangakarra - 1492* (12 tests)
Mathews - 1251* (12)
Younis Khan - 1213 (10)
B McCullum - 1164* (9)
S Smith - 1132* (9)
Warner - 1096* (9)
M Jayawardene - 1003 (11)

Only 2 got over the mark in 2013 -

M Clarke - 1093 (13 tests)
I Bell - 1005 (14)

It can't even be down to more tests either as they have all passed the mark this year in fewer tests. Good batting or poor bowling? Or both?

Does anyone have a link to the old TMS message board, the pastel coloured one, pre 606?

just looking through the schedule for next year and england have a serious amount of cricket coming up

not counting warmups games or the inevitable one knockout game in the world cup, we will be playing ;

32 ODIs

Some tough series too. If it goes poorly, it will be a year of unrelenting pressure, and could accelerate change. If it goes well, a lot of reputations will have been made and a new England side will have emerged.

It'll be interesting to see:

Who emerges to support Broad and Anderson.
Which spinner supplements Moeen in UAE.
Who might take over from Cook as Test captain.
What changes the new ECB chairperson brings about.
If Moores and Downton last the year.
Who takes over from Morgan in ODIs if his form continues (as I believe it will).
I always say that everybody's right.

We will change World Cup history against India: Shahid Afridi. Keep dreaming Lala.

Shoaib, Ajmal tried the same tactic but they put too much pressure on themselves by their comments it seems. Now Afridi.

Afridi said "I think it’s enough now that India have been unbeaten against us in World Cup matches and history of Pak-India matches should be changed in 2015.

He named just four contenders to win the title and it is no surprise that he did not include India in his list. :fight

"In my view Australia will be a very strong side in their backyard while New Zealand will be a big threat as well because if they can beat Pakistan like they did in the UAE, then they can trouble anyone in home conditions. Apart from them, Pakistan and South Africa will also be favourites to win the World Cup,”
