He's not trying to reclaim a place in a team though - AND his retirement has been predicted for a number of years now.

Not expecting him back. Can't rule it out I suppose - especially in one of those "someone gets injured before a vital match and we need an experienced replacement" situations - but I think at 32 with the management apparently set on looking to the future he is an unlikely candidate.

He still wont play for England again though IMO.
