CMS Test XI of last 50 Years- third seamer/second spinner.

Malcolm Marshall (West Indies)
Glenn McGrath

We need another bowler, a kind of repechage of the previous polls for pace and spin bowlers. I've picked the bowlers first who got votes in those particular selections. That gives me the first six names on the list. Then I went back to the original stats, and chose the two bowlers of each discipline with the best strike rate, and the one with the best average (not already selected by other means). That weirdly gave me two English spinners but no Anglo seamers...

So that's with 200 wickets, opposition not including Bangladesh and Zimbabwe.

To give some room for those who may have burned brightly, but not for so long, I incorporated the final three from those with the best SR, but only taken 100 wickets (two seamers and a spinner).

These options don't feel as comprehensive as the previous rounds, but the ones left out attracted no votes before and can be picked in the thread.

Vote for the number six at the above link. You might want to change the vote for this position once that vote finishes.

I was going to vote for Lillee for this, but Steyn didn't make it from the fast bowlers vote, so I'm going for him.

You can vote for him at six Adi on the thread linked above (vote for him at 4/5 has closed). Or I can consider that as a vote for him as third seamer.

Okay Arthur, i am voting for Kallis as third seamer if it is eligible.

Ideally i want a team composition of 5 bats + 1 keeper + 3 pacers and 2 spinners.
Amongst 5 bats one will be Kallis who will also play a role of 4th seamer.

You could vote for a spinner on this thread then, and a seamer for number six (link is in the team list in the first post on this thread). If I don't get a response, I'll allow that you've voted for JK on this poll though. Cheers.

It's looking like Sobers will bat at six, so I've gone for pace, in Akram.

Not a bad team though. You might be able to get a spinner in, but it'll have to be MM.

I'm keeping my powder dry until the result of 6 is known. Instinct tells me to go for MM, but if Sobers is in at 6 he can offer second spin too (perhaps even SRT at a pinch), so maybe a leftie would fit in nicely

I thought Hadlee was one of your original choices in the top 2. Come on. Go for him. Lets force a tight one here.

Viv can add a spin option as well.
