Which was the most boring World Cup of all?

Postby Alviro Patterson » Tue Mar 31, 2015 11:44 pm

Shamelessly stolen from Cricinfo
"Stats are there to be broken" Dominic Cork
"They took all our players away, banned our captain and we still came away with a ten-wicket victory" Jason Gillespie
"You won't get anywhere slouching about half out of bed" Geoffrey Boycott

This one was certainly the most predictable. Not a single shock for me. Even the way the final unfolded was predictable.
"Hey, doll. Could you scare up another round for our table over here? And tell the cook this is low grade dog food. I've had better food at the ballgame, you know? This steak still has marks from where the jockey was hitting it." Al Czervik, aka Rodney Dangerfield in "Caddyshack" (1980)

I went for 2007. Nothing stands out from that tournament, and we had one team who were way above the rest. The final in the dark didn't help.

India and Pakistan got knocked out in the group stage. And how can you forget Leverock's catch...

Yes 2007 had interest down the card, though the winners were no surprise. I went 1979. Symbolised by BOYCOTT AND bREARLEY OPENING FOR eNLAND. At least it didn't last six weeks though.

2015 for me. Just too much dominance with the bat for me. I know there were some games where the bowlers were on top but with big bats, no reverse swing ande the fielding restrictions the game is too batsman friendly.

Was that a hint for a Kenneth William picture?
