The time will come when the Indian women's team will surpass Australia's. Will it start with this series?

India have made a good start to the series - the first of 3 x T20's - they have managed to apply the pressure all the way through the Aus innings, and dismissed them for 133.

This is Sophie Molineux's debut as a captain, as well.

Fair enough that you are keen. Same here. This could be quite the tussle.

I enjoy women's cricket and this would have been a cracker of a series, India win first T20 on DLS

in my opinion, it is the sport that suits women the best - the transfer of skills is closer in cricket than in other sports I've seen.

Football has an obvious gap between the two, Rugby and League is not bad, Aussie Rules is terrible - the gulf between male and female skills levels is immense with this.

It was telecast live in India. Watched one over live when Beth and Georgia batted.

not the best start for her. Batting seems to have been under par, but the rain made the India chase pretty academic. Aus are a good team, so I'm sure they'll bounce back

The INdia openers are looking to make short work of Australia's laboured 163.

The openers have put on a quick 54 in the power play

Aus turn it around though for a 19 run win

The ODIs start today.

Halfway through the India innings, and Mollineux has used six bowlers, and each of them have bowled at least three over - Mollineux is not one of them.

She really does need to bowl herself, to justify her spot in the team.

Aus have squeezed India to keep them to 115/5 off the first 26 overs. Aus really need to win this game, plus one more of the ODIs, to have much hope of winning the series.

after an early wobble the chase is going along well

I thought Healy had retired, but maybe that was just T20. Just brought up her fifty, and the partnership with Mooney will have eased any nerves.

97 needed with 8 wickets and 27 overs remaining. Should be a formality from here

Fair enough mistake. She has quit T20s, and she has announced her retirement. This series, and I assume the test, are her last international games.

Coming up to a very comfortable win to Aus. Good to see the series back on level pegging.
