3 tests will be played at Bengaluru, Pune and Mumbai.
Kane is recovering from groin issue which he faced during SL series. Likely to miss first test at least.
Southee has given up captaincy. Tom Latham is the new captain.

Last tour of NZ to India was in 2021. NZ managed to draw one match on Day 5, and lost another by a massive margin of 372 runs.
The recent form of NZ is very poor as they got whitewashed by SL last month. Lost series 0-2 to SL comprehensively; SL won the first test by 63 runs and second by an innings and 154 runs.
NZ are ranked 6th. They need to put up good performances in test cricket.
However, winning this series for NZ is not going to be easy as this is a full strength Indian squad.
Indian Squad:
Rohit Sharma (C), Jasprit Bumrah (VC), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Sarfaraz Khan, Rishabh Pant (WK), Dhruv Jurel (WK), Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Siraj, Akash Deep

I just went through and watched the wickets and some other highlights.
It looked to be some unwise shots for the situations, a couple of times the ball looked to stick in the wicket or rear - but the majority of it was good pace/seam bowling and some fantastic catching by NZ.
Crowd very quiet.

Pant and Jaiswal made nearly 40 together, so the rest of the team made 6 odd runs for 8 wickets.
Unbelievable

India have themselves to blame. This is much worse that 36 all out . The 36 all out came against Australia a better team, in Australia and a pink-ball test, this 46 all out is worse. This is lowest ever total at home for India in tests and this is not even a pink ball test.
Both were horrible test batting performances, but this is the worst.
Rohit Sharma as usual is utterly clueless when it moves even an inch after playing international cricket for so long. So there is no point wasting time to put blame of his wicket on overnight rain. Nothing unknown - i am surpised he could survive 12 balls when the conditions favored swing. Trent Boult would hvve dismissed him on first ball. Rohit must be the most happiest man when Trent Boult retired. It was rubbish approach having been aware that it had rained for long days before and wicket was under covers. Also knowing how rubbish he is in swing conditions this was a terrible approach.
Yashasvi and Virat couldn't keep the ball down.
Sarfaraz played a very dumb shot given the conditions and scorecard. Given how the events had unfolded by the time he came out to bat, he should have played proper test cricket approach.
Rishabh got a proper wicket taking ball.
Rahul got out to one which should have been a leg side four.
Although NZ deserve credit for their bowling, Indian batting lineup played rubbish cricket to be at 33/5. Certainly Indian batsmen helped them welcome gifts on this tour.

All ten wickets to pace too. Can't be often that sides get bundled out in India to pace.

Ravindra continues his remarkable start in Tests.
Presume it's going to be a big job getting India out a second time though, on a day 3 pitch.

Seems his family background is from Bangaluru, and he played cricket there as a youngster. So a happy return.

130 run stand for the 8th wicket has killed off the India fightback. England could have done with one of those whilst Stokes and Carse were in

Ravindra is a popular player up here after he rocked up last year in Durham for one game and scored a double ton on debut. It was a pretty flawless performance
