Yes I think Australia have plenty - or will have by the time they close. (Presume they will want at least 400 with all the time left in the match) Might have wanted to score a bit faster but India battled well all day with bat and ball - all too late for them though. Not going to chase down whatever they're set with enough in this pitch for Lyon as well as the four pace men. Batting hasn't looked easy for anyone (except Smith until his brain fade) in this innings , and I doubt that will change overnight.

Got the reserve day in hand if weather interferes so Australia are well set for the title :thumb

timid declaration

what happens if India hang on?

extra time and penalties?
super over?
super 10 overs?
middle stump shoot out?
bat toss?

Won't matter though as they have a reserve day which can be used to cover for time lost to the weather.

Anyway the speed with which India are scoring so far suggests they will either be be bowled out or make the 444 with time to spare :)

Suspect the former . Have been a lot of good fourth innings scores at The Oval ; but the highest actually successful chase was less than 300. Fun while it lasts though.

Didn't know if the reserve day was for an entire washout.

the spare day is only to be used if time is lost due to weather/light - not slow over rates...

Seems strange that it will be a shared title if the match has no winner - surely the team qualifying highest should get the trophy. It seems (to me at least) a decision made by the BCCI.

Saw an article about Shubman's dismissal. Not surprised that this is one sided. Pretty much what i expected from this Indian team. Not the first time we have lost away test series scheduled just after IPL or lack of warm up matches before major test series. Well deserved runners up though.

Huge over to take Kohli and Jadeja early. India need a miracle now.
