These ODIs seem to be going badly for Australia. Familiar faces too.
Good news for SL.

Quite an eventful first day of the Test. Spin-heavy Sri Lanka probably didn't get as many as they wanted in their first knock - really have Dickwella to thank for recovering from 97/5 to reach 212. But then Australia , after galloping along at five per over , lost Labuschagne and Smith late in the day to a careless shot and a silly run out to leave them 98/3 and the game very much in the balance. Khawaja has played very well - though he owes Dickwella for missing a simple chance for a stumping immediately after Marnus got out. Might prove to be a big moment...
Certainly won't go five days.

Everyone in the runs - at compared with the previous game. Much more benign surface. That 364 Australia made not looking so good now ; although we will have to wait and see how the later Sri Lankan bats do - think they'd need a decent lead on first innings , having to bat last.
A famous name for Sri Lanka in the wickets column : very handy debut performance by Prabath Jayasuriya - a fairly "mature" debutant with a six wicket haul

Top effort by Sri Lanka to bounce back and win that - after First Test hammering , Covid losses and the general national issues.
Aussies have cause to regret some careless batting on day two : should have made much more than 364. Also some very silly reviews that meant they didn't have one when they needed it : Tim Paine where are you
Luck aside , Chandimal's innings was terrific - his dominant last wicket effort really put the scoreboard pressure on the tourists. But the performance of the match was Jayasuriya : what a debut ! And he only got in because of Covid absences.
Time will tell if he can follow up that start. But I suspect India's spinners will be licking their lips ahead of the coming Australians' visit...

Not best debut figures though.
