Bracewell is a bit rubbish really. Lot of talk that NZ will need a better spinner in the 4th innings if England get going.

He'll probably bowl us out now I've said that.

Leach takes matters into his own hands and bowls Boult

feels like a while since an England spinner took a 10fer at home

Moeen did it v South Africa At Lords 2017.

Swann and Monty both managed it once at home.

Think you have to go back to Underwood before that.

Bloody hell, Tufnell took a 10-fer in the home 97 Ashes v Waugh's Australia, a match England actually won in that era.

Thrilling game that one. Tuffers was a good bowler on his day.

Dead rubber though.

Got to fancy England here.

Unfortunately his day was not very often.

Bad from Crawley. Very bad. Got to go, surely?

Could be England at a canter, or 150 all out if they keep swinging away at wide ones.

Crawley should have never been picked again tbf. He had a technical issue, it's still there....

Instead of allowing him to go away and work it out, they've thrown him to the lions and he's been obliterated.

He's going to have pile up mountains of runs for a third chance,.something he's never done in CC. I'd be surprised if this isn't his last England cap.

Compared to last week, which was as fluent as I've ever seen him, Root doesn't seem to be timing it well at all. More than a few edges.

Bracewell is going at 7 an over, but if there is so much time in the game it really doesn't matter if he needs to buy a couple of wickets.

Agreed. That said, he is only 24, so does have time to improve and score those cc runs and win a place back. May not be likely, but you never know.

The Sky commentators are talking about bringing Buttler back to the test side. As a specialist opener.

I have no words.

Mo mentioned being approached by Brandon about playing again, but talked about it as if the new coach just wanted to know who was available. I think I remember Mo said BM asked JB2 in the same spirit, though of course, Buttler hasn't ever retired from Tests.

Root may not have been at his best, but still there on 55.

Pope has batted beautifully. I hope this series is the breakthrough for him and he goes on to realise his talent in the test arena at last.
