The expected result. Think England will perhaps regret choosing to chase but I imagine they had hoped to grab a couple of early wickets : that opening stand , cautious at first and going smoothly through the gears , was a classic for this format . And frankly by the time Haynes got out the pattern of the game was set.

Healy played an amazing innings (as did Sciver , but she had too much to do practically unaided)

Well deserved trophy for an Australian team that has a clear edge on all opponents at the moment :salute

Well played Australia. Unstoppable juggernaut, but I think we all knew the trophy had their name on it from game 1...

congrats to the Aussies on a fine and emphatic victory

Sciver helped England to a respectable total and ensured they avoided a humiliating rout, but the result was never in doubt

The basis, for me, would be the Aussie team in the final with a few tweaks

I never thought I would say this, but I'd take out Perry for Sciver

then I'd swap King for Ecclestone and Ismail for Brown

and I'd leave Gardner's slot for Kapp and Mathews to fight over

and I never thought I'd say this either, but no place for Devine

Fair enough to swap Ecclestone for King, Durham. Those 21 wickets can't be ignored.

But King's star is certainly on the rise - she made her debut a whole two months ago!

She had a very good day yesterday - admittedly bowling with a massive score behind her. The over where she got Knight out (to a fantastic ball) was a beauty. She has Sciver given out but overturned on review, and went on to completely deceived Knight.

I see a fair bit of Warne's influence in her bowling style and attitude.

Fair, dfm. I nearly listed the Australian team as a whole, and you could certainly argue Mooney ahead of Kaur but I opted for diversity. That said, Australia won on the strength of their top order batting - their lower-middle order didn't do that much because they didn't need to, and few of their bowlers, especially the quicks (in a spinner-friendly tournsment) really stood our compared to the best performers from other teams.

I wouldn't have King, she bowled tidily enough but her figures were massaged by 3 fairly facile wickets against an England lower order that were trying to hit 8+ an over. That said, I have been impressed with her so far, reckon she's a great prospect. I recall Warne clearly rated her when commentating on the women's ashes just before he died.
