A good result for the neutral - now gets very interesting for those top 4 places. No-one is out, at least technically.

Or not. As long as Lanning stays there, Australia will win.

And so it proved, although South Africa did not help themselves by dropping her multiple times. Drops notwithstanding, Lanning's conversion rate is a class above anyone else.

after having a bit of a lean run during this summer, Lanning looks to back to her world-dominating best. Player of the match in the last two, both pretty close, matches.

Aussie batting has looked pretty impregnable...though as you say , bfl , there have been a few dropped catches in this and other games. Their bowling perhaps not quite so dominant ; but you can see why the bookies have them very short priced...

Somehow England are back in control of their destiny. Win 2 and qualify. They are off to a good start with Pakistan 31/2 off 12, but no doubt will struggle in the chase at some point.

Meanwhile not looking good for any play in WI v SA. SA won't mind as a point for no result as that'll guarantee their qualification (and lock in 2nd place), but west Indies will end on 7, which puts the pressure back on India and England - the scenario of losing their Last game and sneaking ahead of WI on NRR is out.

In theory, Eng, Ban, NZ and India could all finish on 6 points for 1 spot. And Pakistan are technically still alive thanks to beating Windies.

I am enjoying this tournament. The cricket may not be top quality (except by Australia) but there have been entertaining games, some upsets and lots of close finishes.

If England can't chase 105 they deserve to be knocked out.

In control.

That no result has clarified some issues : SA arguably a bit lucky as they weren't off to a fantastic start but now are locked in for second spot. And West Indies are really no worse off with 7 points than they'd have been with 8 and a lousy NRR. Not out , but sweating on other results .

England on 28/1 from 6 , with Wyatt playing with her natural aggression. They haven't had it that easy , with Diana troubling them with movement and with one wicket already in her Ba(i)g...

They need to make sure they get 106 : but I'm sure they also want to up their NRR in case it comes to an equal points with India situation.

Has indeed been an interesting competition . As you say , bfl : some questionable standards , but plenty of excitement :thumb

I just saw that Bangladesh thrashed South Africa - by 9 wickets and more than half the overs spare. I was surprised.

Then, I saw that it was not the Women's World Cup. It is the men's (senior) team. I was very surprised.

and in South Africa. Even more surprised.

Well that was as ruthless as it gets. A nice boost to NRR as well.

Big win indeed. Wyatt was in total command - good to see her in some form. Brunt got her mojo back too , it seems.

Just need to beat Bangladesh now - which they really should. Mind you , there was an England Men's WC team that got eliminated in these parts a few years ago...by Bangladesh :)

I counted that as an England win, because the data said so.....

Australia reduced to 41/4 chasing Bangladesh's 135 all out  .And no Perry either.

They bat deep and it's a small target, so will probably win anyway, but chance of an upset here.
