Pakistan win the toss - yes, I thought it was going to be tomorrow too - and bowl.

Good choice, they have the two openers gone with no runs on the board.

Is it Aaron Finch's last ODI for Aus?

Recovering though. McDermott still in after a ton in his last game.

Emphatic win to Pakistan.

9 wickets and 12 overs spare

First one day series win for Pak over Aus for 20 years. Good for them.

Hardly unexpected I guess with virtually the entire first choice Australian bowling group missing the series... The result in the first match proved to be very much an outlier !

TBH I place very little importance on ODI results outside of major tournaments. Too much cricket being played , and obviously one side or other is going to be far from full strength on many occasions. Doesn't make the games worthless : much of it is about developing players for the future and tinkering with combinations . But I never read too much into individual series outcomes.

Very true, Alfie. I agree with all of that.

I was half expecting Aus to go down 3-0.

I set more by winning the home series though - mainly because of awareness, I suppose. It is only recently that I have been able to watch any overseas series except for the Ashes.

Amazing how resilient Pakistan cricket is, given how hard it is for them just to keep going.

Close on 24 hours after the event, I look up Cricinfo to find that Australia won the one and only T20.

Ironically, Aaron Finch was the player of the match, with 55 runs.

As befits world champs. A few names that are new to me. Ellis, Dwarshuis and Inglis.
