This week long event has kicked off in Dubai (where else) with Kong Kong, the UAE and Bhutan beating Malaysia, Nepal and Kuwait respectively. Some shocks in those results - certainly the Nepal loss.

Theertha Shatish's 46 was instrumental in the UAE's smiting of Nepal whilst Butan's Karma Samten got her just rewards after figures of 2-9 in her outing.

Thus far undefeated UAE and Hong Kong will play each other tomorrow to see who will take total dominion of the table.

That crunch clash between the UAE and Hong Kong went the way of the Emirates.

After winning the toss, Hong Kong chose to field and were looking to rue their choice after a 49 run opening partnership - but after that first stand was broken wickets became a more regular occurrence. Kary Chan had a golden spell of 3-24 as she gutted the middle order, however a bit of a late rally saw the UAE to 128.

Hong Kong made a decent fist of the chase but their lower order let them down hugely; after being 98-4 they fell to 117 all out to hand the UAE dominancy at the top of the table.

In the other matches Malaysia beat Kuwait and Nepal beat Butane.

Nepal's Sita Rana has the same amount of wickets as Chan (4) but has so with a superior average of 7. Despite their lowly position in the table, Malaysia's Wan Julia has scored 44 and 24 to top the run scoring tree.
