India using a substitute keeper yet again.

When will india be called out on their use of substitutions, it is cheating and getting to blatant now not to be acted on.

NZ were looking pretty good coming up to lunch yesterday with just one down and nearly 200 : then Williamson fell to the last ball before the interval and the subsequent collapse against the spin of Axar and Ashwin saw them trailing by 49 on first innings. Probably enough to have India ready to take the game away from them today as I fancy batting last on a pitch that has already seen a lot of balls keeping low will be no picnic.

Although just as I type , Jamieson has had Pujara strangled down leg (via a drs overrule) and India are 32/2. Lead of 81 . NZ will need a few more of those I think...

Five down. Spinners just not getting into the game in either innings for NZ, but at least not going for runs.

Kiwis hanging in quite impressively. Still plenty to do though and a new ball is about due.

Blundell goes, so now the tail is in. Looks like India will win, but NZ giving them a run for their money.

Kiwis hold out with a wicket in the bank. Amazing! Shows what can be done with a bit of pragmatism and desire.

Hats off to NZ for that escape ! They had batted very soundly for much of the day ; but when the wickets began to tumble in a rush after tea and the last pair were left with something like ten overs to survive I really thought it was all done. Light trimmed a few minutes in the end but with the ball scuttling along the ground in that last session those two rabbits did a fine job to hold out.
Ironic that NZ picked three (rather ineffective ) spinners - who between their different efforts were able to save the draw with the bat :)

Wow. Incredible achievement by Ajaz Patel last night. 10/119

Just the third time it's been done. I watched the extended highlights of the first day, Ajaz was looking really good, but that was only 4 of the 10 wickets.

The kiwis are in such a golden period.

They were 6/48 when I was posting this, and things have continued downwards for them...

Obviously its a very special achievement, but its slightly soured for me by the fact I thought Kohli was given out lbw with the clearest inside edge you will ever see, and if hawkeye thinks that Axar Patel ball is coming back to hit the stumps, then it can go jog on, because there is no way on earth that ball is hitting the stumps.

He's got a good stride in and he's hit above the knee roll, so its not only going over, but that ball has landed outside of the line of another set of stumps, id say its probably on a 7th or even 8th stump line, and holding its line consistent you can clearly see its missing.

Hawkeye had the ball shooting off past the pad like it has bounced off the deck then suddenly develops vicious inswing...... its a dud decision, obviously there was a technical glitch of some sort.
