As the African competition draws to a close, half the Asian one kicks off today with Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, The Maldives and Saudi Arabia all vying to progress to the Global Qualifiers.

Bahrain scored the biggest win by chasing down Qatar's 133-5 in just 13 overs thanks to Muhammad Younis' 44 ball 82.

Despite losing their game opening game to Saudi Arabia, The Maldives' Umar Adam had the best looking bowling figures of the day with 2-13 from his 4.

Qatar's Muhammad Murad was the star of today's match against Saudi Arabia. First off he got three wickets in Saudi Arabia's opening effort of 130. Fast forward to the final innings of the chase and Murad was at the crease with his side needing 11 to win. He kicked it off with a 2 and then followed it up with a six leaving the equation much more simple.

That win put Qatar joint on points with Bahrain and their opponents at the top of the table. Tomorrow Bahrain play Saudi Arabia to see who can take an outright lead before Qatar play Kuwait on Friday. Only one team progresses.

Muhammad Younis followed up his opening day 82 with scores of 13 vs Kuwait and 31 vs The Maldives making him the highest run scorer in the competition. Two men have six weeks but Kuwait's Mohammed Aslam has only played two games so has the edge.
