Organizers will be wanting another Ind - Pakistan match in knockouts.

The Indian bowling was below par. Shami and Bhuvi bowled too much on the middle and leg. Indian pacers need to pick wickets early with the white ball, which has been a problem in LOI format.

Even with the start Pakistan had, it surprised me that they won. I was having hopes till 16th over waiting for the usual collapse.

7-1 now in WC matches between India and Pakistan.

I was not expecting that - this match was on in the middle of the night for me, so didn't watch any of it.

Good way for Pakistan to get that monkey off their back.

Of course, just as Aus' win over the Seffers hasn't made them the better T20 team, this doesn't mean too much yet. These two are in by far the easiest group to qualify in, so India will almost certainly still get through. (and play India?)

India will still qualify though.

New Zealand might have something to say about that.

Interesting result :)

I didn't expect that. Though with Pakistan , expectations are always like soap bubbles... Good Pakistan turned up and just blew India away . Watched the extended highlights and despite the commentators' attempts to create drama I thought Pakistan were nailed on for the win well before the end. Think India should probably have used all Bumrah overs before it was too late but doubt it would have made any difference. Terrific batting from Babar and Rizwan : just too good.

What does it mean going forward ? Well , one - India are by no means invincible. Not convinced by their bowling at all. Yes they should still make the knock outs (no idea whether Pakistan will now sweep the board or revert to up/down results as usual) and as BFL says NZ will be keen to have their say. Makes the group a lot more interesting than it looked initially. Also noted a sharp contrast in the ease of run making from a day ago on the same ground : seems either some teams can't bat or some teams can't bowl - or we are going to see a fair bit of difference in the pitches !

Good win for Sri Lanka earlier on. Think they could do better than many had expected.

Going to be too many for the plucky Scots once Rashid's four overs are subtracted from the 20.

sadly not, as it turns out

Scotland's chances of winning going down faster than the SNP's chances of making an independent living out of north sea oil

Must win game for WI and SA, given they'll already chalked up a loss.

Come on WI!
