4-2 for Rashid.

England would struggle to chase these in a Test. Should be ok in a T20.

Just as well not chasing thirty more.

I'm guessing that the pitches are every bit as bad as the associates made them look

my favourite headline for the day comes courtesy of 'the cricketer'

Australia briefly looked like title contenders and then they started batting

On what we've seen in Qualifiers , warm ups and the first couple of group games , I think we can scale back our expectations of high scoring matches...which might have a couple of teams reassessing their game plans.

Suppose we might see some better surfaces - and perhaps some better batting ! - but it does look as though clever placement , good judgement and keen running might trump raw power at this tournament. Bad news for the likes of West Indies I think , as they seem to have only one style - and "dot dot 4 dot dot 6" might not work so well as it did last time. They will need a good result against SA , given the initial awful knock to their run rate , or they might as well pack their bags. The least they can do is pick Chase for the sake of my fantasy team :)

Australia might be happy : Smith remains much their best player , if not so much (usually) in t20 : and in these conditions his ability to score at a reasonable rate without necessarily clearing fences will be priceless. (Could be that England will have half a thought that Root might have been useful ? Though I am happy enough to see him left to concentrate on the longer forms - he has enough on his plate and they have plenty of t20 options)

Will be interesting to see how Sri Lanka and Bangladesh square off. The winner could be in with an excellent chance to push for a spot from the "group of death". That one is in Sharjah of course , which might see slightly different conditions.

Wins for Australia and England.

This could be a low scoring World Cup.

Fairly comfortable win for SL. A few more runs on view in Sharjah.

Duck for Talent. His weakness exploited yet again.

Golden duck. Should be negative fantasy league points.

Rahul bowled as well. India lose both openers far too early with just few run scored.
