Has been steadily looking that way. Though you can't help but feel both losing sides made some critical errors that ended up costing them in the end. Not going hard enough early , so that they ended up with spare unused batting but less runs that they might have had. Using - or not using - some of their bowling resources (England neglecting Moeen ; Pakistan only using Imad Wasim for 3 , meaning the hapless Hassan had to bowl one too many). And some very panicky bowling in the latter stages.
Not that the winners were exactly perfect in all their execution of plans either so perhaps it does come down largely to who bats first. Or the old "matter of inches" : couple of Pakistan throws missed the stumps by - well , inches - that would have ended Aussie hopes ; Bairstow's knee touching the boundary marking milliseconds before he could release the ball for that combination catch...
It's t20 and it's entertaining ; so even if it sometimes seems a bit of a raffle we can enjoy it while we wait for the proper cricket to start again. If it ever stops raining here in Australia...
