This tournament is throwing up some absolute doozies in terms of winning margins.

There are 10 teams (down from 11 after the withdrawal of Cameroon) with Zimbabwe the expected front runners in Pool A and Namibia the most likely victor from B. The winners of each pool go on to play each other as the sole team to move on to the global qualifiers.

Zimbabwe won their second game of the tournament this morning in a clinical mauling of Swaziland. The Zimbabwean bowlers, led by Esther Mbofana (6-11), got Swaziland all out for 17 in 9.2 overs. The Zimbabweans managed to chase that down in a humiliating 14 balls.

In the afternoon game, Tanzania (not exactly a cricketing powerhouse) put on a humungous total of 228-4 - the seventh highest T20I total for a Women's team. Mwanaidi Swedy top scored with an 87* off 48 balls. In reply Mozambique scored 28 - a winning margin of 200 runs.

Despite the fact that Swedy has only played one game to other competitors 2 games, her score of 87 puts her on top of the run scoring table. Zimbabwe's Loryn Phiri has figures of 4-12 and 3-1 which puts her atop the wicket taking table.

Tanzania are proving that they are the surprise package of this tournament as they got their second win. 104-8 looked under par but the Tanzanian bowlers went to work and got Rwanda all out for 61. Tanzania are joint second of Pool A alongside Rwanda with Zimbabwe out in the lead whilst Namibia lead out Pool B.

Despite their poor showing against Thailand last month, Zimbabwe look the clear favourites to progress to the global qualifiers at this stage. They have the leading run-scorer in Modester Mupachikwa (133) whilst Loryn Phiri now has 14 wickets for just 21 runs in in 10.3 overs across 4 games.

As expected the final of this tournament sees Zimbabwe face Namibia.

It was Zim that faced the sternest test as they were almost undone by Uganda. At one point they were 44-5 but managed to salvage a total of 108-6 before Esther Mbofana led the way and allowed Zimbabwe through to the final.

Tanzania's elimination sees the end of a spirited performance from them, not least in the batting department where Fatuma Kibasu finishes as tournament top scorer with 246 from 6 innings. Loryn Phiri remains top wicket with 15.

Zimbabwe made it through to the Global Qualifiers with a low-scoring victory over Namibia today whilst Tanzania beat Uganda in the third place play off - which I think is a fair order of things.

31 year old Fatuma Kibasu's 280 runs made her the tournament's highest run scorer. Her highest score came in Tanzania's win against Swaziland where she scored 127* - the compeititon's highest score. Incidentally 5 of the top 10 highest individual scores and 4 of the top 10 highest team totals came against winless Swaziland.

Ximbabwe's Loryn Phiri got another 2 wickets today for the loss of just 3 runs which takes her tournament figures to 18.3-3-62-16.
