As a Sussex fan I would certainly like an explanation as to what the club knew and when. The Independent have an article saying the last of these tweets landed in late 2013, which is after he signed a contract at Yorkshire. He was sacked after without any specific reason being given, and it does feel like this could be the reason, or at least part of it.
I dont think Sussex would trawl SM of players looking for this, and even if they did it would probably have been deleted..... but the fact we ended up with Dizzy at the club who almost certainly would have known had Yorkshire themselves been aware, then we have no excuse. These should have been uncovered at the time.
I have seen the word "leak" used in several articles. Considering the "sacked to hero" articles everywhere, it wouldnt surprise me if someone aware of his behaviour was tired by all these articles and leaked this to the press.
