A maiden Test ton for Najmul Hossain Shanto and a third-wicket stand of 100+ has seen Bangladesh start this Test in the box seat.

They were 302-2 at stumps.

Mominul Haque became the third player to get a score of 90 plus in a game that is rapidly turning into a mauling.

It was Mominul's eleventh century but first away from home.

This match was dead long ago but threw up a freak occurrence today.

Tamim Iqbal had scored 50 of Bangladesh's total of 52 when he reached his half century. It is the lowest Team total achieved at the poiny a player has reached their 50

Lahiru Thirimanne is moving from a nearly man to a nailed on very string opening option for Lanka.

131* overnight after some verybstrong showings against West Indies.

Looks another road in Pallekele though

Half centuries, you mean? Here's another one. I am surprised Karu didn't allow him to get to a maiden three figures before declaring.

Sri Lanka 493-7 declared

Karu 118
Thirimanne 140
Oshada 81
Dickwella 77 not out

Taskin 4-127

Taijul would have been pleased with his output at the end of the day.....however was given out hit wicket because his boot came off when executing a shot.

Bangladesh post 257/6 after opting to bat first in Dhaka

Mushfiqur Rahim - the top scorer with 84.

SL looked in the hunt at the half way stage but let the RR get away from them.

Sri Lanka win the final game by 97 runs, but Bangladesh clinch the series 2-1

Kusal Perera's 120 was the performance of note
