Half of their squad is crooked, but still SL are really not a good team anymore.

Thirimanne has a Test batting average of 22. Is that all they've got?

South Africa 148-1 at stumps.

Anrich Nortje finished the innings with career-best figures for South Africa today. Big talent

SA are supposed to be in decline too, but I suppose it's relative.

That average is also bolstered with his only score of note vs a BD C team nearly a decade ago, courtesy of a pitch that produced stupid batting scores (the hopeless Ashraful made his top test score of 190 on it, which gives you an indication as to the extent of its roadness).

He averages 11 in nearly 10 tests vs England. As a specialist bat.

I cant think of any other players who have been so poor for a major team who have played that many tests. As you say, surely anyone could do better than that, how does he get picked still.

And there he goes again! Thirimanne looked so good making 31, but then inexplicably got himself out.
