Since Kholi's runout in the first innings, I think there has been 23 wickets lost for 276.

Two of the best, and better balanced, bowling attacks for some years now, are in their pomp.

Wow! Give up a 54 run 1st innings lead, then bowl India out for 36...

Must be about the cheapest 5-fer ever by haze? 8 runs.

Ok, he did, but it was a spell, not a whole innings. The final analysis was 7-25.
https://www.espncricinfo.com/series/wes ... -scorecard

I can find 12 examples of a player taking a 5-fer while conceding fewer than 10 runs. The best ever sub-10-run five-fer was a 8-7 by George Lohman in 1896. While the cheapest ever 5 wicket haul was 5-2 in 1947 by Ernie Toshack.

Amazingly, Hazlewood's isn't even the cheapest 5 wicket haul by a player in this match, as Bumrah took 5-7 last year against West Indies. It's also not the cheapest 5-fer against India (in terms of runs per wicket), as Michael Clarke somehow took 6-9 in Mumbai in 2004.

https://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/engin ... l1=wickets

Still quite the performance though.

Also: India's lowest test score, second lowest score ever made in Australia, joint sixth lowest of all time, and only the second time in history that no player has reached double figures in a completed innings.

First time in tests that the first six bats did not reach double figures.

I also think it is the first time - out of about 30 tests - that Kolhi has won the toss and lost the test.

It keeps bringing up the stats, this result.

India's innings consisted of 15 scoring shots. 9 wickets lost.

Crumbs..... not even Durham could do that

Warne suggested that the India batsmen couldn't have seen that coming, but my feeling is that India supporters are very much like Durham supporters and can always see something like that coming (maybe not quite to that degree)

Actually fifth lowest, not sixth. My mistake.

Lowest innings total since 1955.

Will there be a pitch complaint?

I don't think so. I didn't see anything wrong with the pitch, or any balls radically misbehaving.

I saw some excellent bowling though - from both sides.

Aussies knocking the runs off like that might avert that possibility.
