But what about all those England fans unknowingly carrying coronavirus with them to Sri Lanka?

I imagine the Sri Lanka government would test any visitors for coronavirus before clearing immigration and anyone with flu like symptoms are refused entry.

It's poor form by England to cancel the series, any decision should have been left by Sri Lanka Cricket and the government.

The UK aren't screening people from anywhere, so what makes you think Sri Lanka should be?

Liverpool just got 4,000 people from the Madrid a couple of days ago, the most coronavirus place outside China....what did they do? Zero

true, that wasn't very smart but it does seem strange to cancel if the cases in SL are so low

Even if cases in SL are low, it's reasonable that the players and staff will be worried about friends and relatives in the UK, and possible future quarantines.

Those empty tourist spots look tempting.

I got the feeling that in December when the England team got the flu bug that it was really the Corona Virus. Archer said he was the first to get it and felt unwell on the plane to SA. It went through the whole squad missing a couple players and also some of the back room staff were affected. I have never known a tour where so many were affected. 17 of the 19 and 6 backroom staff. As some players got better others went down with it.

If airports did screening for ebola, then they should be screening for the coronavirus, more so when it is now a pandemic.

I have a hunch that the England Cricket team suffered from Aussie Flu and it originated from New Zealand, as half the Blackcaps squad got hit when they were in Australia.

Maybe that was also the Covid-19. The first case can be traced back to 17 November in Wuhan. But was it the first case?

I hadn't even heard of the Aussie flu. Just looked it up - H3N2. Most likely your hunch is right.

Maybe you could argue that if this squad didn't want to play in SL they could call up 16 players without those reservations?
