I didn't think they'd get 150, tbh, so 180-3 (albeit miles behind) is a credit to their intelligence for resisting the temptation to go gung ho. Protecting their NRR seems eminently sensible to me

England leaking boundaries every over, atm. Rashid going for a few, but Morgan perhaps getting him lots of overs under his belt to see if something sparks that will help Dilly later in the tournament

Hmmm. The next four games are NZ v South Africa, Australia v Bangladesh, England v Sri Lanka and India v Afghanistan.

If India, England, Australia and New Zealand win those four as they would be expected to, then we'll have four teams on 9 or 10 points, and 4 on 3 or fewer with 3 to play (plus one on 4 and one on 5), meaning that the group stage will effectively be decided with 3 rounds of games to go. We could have four teams knocked out by Sunday with two weeks of group games to go. :no

Joe Root needs 105 runs to beat Graham Gooch's record for most runs in a single world cup by an English player. And he's probably got at least 5 games to do it in.

Anyone want to be against that one?

Guess there is a very technical reason why they cannot play 50 overs...
