Of course, he should be in the team on merit. Just wondering with the baby he might not want to be out there. And by taking Cook and Anderson out, I'm giving a younger team a chance to create a new dynamic for a dispiriting game. But it's probably crazy talk.

Without Cook this team in India would have perforned much badly imo.

if he stayed for the Ashes would be a bad move and quite defensive from the hierarchy.
think England got a better chance of winning Away ashes with a new captain than with Cook in the reigns.

Can't argue with that. He's been superb in the past, though unconvincing on this tour. Would easily be in the best side for Chennai.

In the summer there was a lot of talk about Anderson rarely getting injured but there are signs his body is beginning to show the wear and tear all fast bowlers eventually suffer, add to that Broad's injury problems and we could see the changing of the guard sooner than we might have expected a year ago.
